Incognito in Nepal: Where is Prince Harry?

Kathmandu, March 27

Britain’s Prince Harry, who arrived in Nepal for a five-day visit on March 19, went incognito after the completing his formal programmes, saying he would like to spend some time to help rebuild a quake-affected school in Nepal.

The British Embassy in Kathmandu, had said that this would be Harry’s personal event, and requested the media to respect his privacy. There were speculations that Harry may have gone to Barpak, the epicentre of last year’s devastating quake. But Nepal’s official news agency RSS now reports that the prince is in Lapubensi in Gorkha district.

According to the agency, Prince Harry has been helping a British charity rebuild the local Prabhat Kiran Secondary School. “He arrived on Thursday evening with some British and Nepali persons in the team. He was spotted carrying ‘doko’ and fetching wood and stones yesterday,” said the report.

Although the locals did not recognise him in for a few days, they now know that the fifth in line to the British throne is in their village, and his helping build a school for their kids.

The school’s management committee chair Suresh Gurung told RSS he was happy to have received support from the prince. He said, a total of 11 rooms are being built.

The agency, however, has not released any photographs yet.
