Kathmandu, March 30
National Planning Commission is holding discussions with ministries regarding the budget for the fiscal 2073-74 on April 3-10. At the discussions, all ministries will present their programmes and NPC will fix budget ceiling, Tulashi Gautam, NPC spokesperson, told Onlinekhabar.
During this exercise, NPC will check whether ministries programmes are in sync with their objectives, Gautam said, adding: NPC will arrange financial resources adhering to the Finance Ministry-fixed ceiling.
“All ministries present programmes in excess, the budget cannot support all these programmes. NPC approves programmes based on its priorities and the Finance Ministry arranges resources accordingly,” Gautam said.
For the coming fiscal, the NPC has fixed a budget ceiling of around ninne trillion rupees, about one trillion more than the current fiscal’s around eight trillion rupees.
