This year’s SLC examinations began at 8 am, on Thursday. Altogether 6, 15, 553 students are taking the exams, as per records.
There are 4, 52, 881 students under regular category, 1, 59, 417 under exempted category and 3,255 students under the technical SLC category. Under the regular category, there are 2, 25, 246 boys and 2, 27, 535 girls.
Whereas 1,982 boys and 1,273 girls are writing their papers at technical SLC exams.
The highest number of examinees are from Kathmandu (35, 729) whereas Manang has the lowest number of examinees (63).
Exam Controller’s Office informed it has set up 1,943 exam centres throughout the country for conducting SLC examinations.
Kathmandu has the highest number of exam centres (93 exam centres for 36, 700), whereas Manang and Mustang have the lowest number of exam centres (one each).
The Ministry of Education has mobilised 18 teams under joint-secretaries for making the exams systematic and disciplined.
In the 62-year history of SLC examinations, the government is introducing the letter grading system in the exams under all categories.
