Kathmandu, April 28
The Supreme Court has directed authorities concerned to produce Kanakmani Dixit, chairman of Sajha Yatayat and journalist, before it on Monday for a hearing on a habeas corpus petition.
Dixit’s wife Shanta had filed a habeas corpus petition at the court after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority arrested him on the charge of amassing property illegally.
A single bench of Acting Chief Justice Sushila Karki issued the order for a final hearing on the petition on Monday. Advocates Shambhu Thapa, Harihar Dahal, Satishkrishna Kharel, Tikaram Bhattarai, Dinmani Pokhrel and Om Prakash Aryal had pleaded on behalf of the petitioner.
