Five arrested in Kathmandu with more than 12 kg of marijuana

Police have arrested four women and a man with at least 12 kg of marijuana from Kathmandu in course of the past four days. They used to sell marijuana in areas close to the Pashupatinath Temple

They identified the arrestees as Dil Bahadur Lama (58) of Dandiguranse-5, Sindhuli, Parvati Dahal (32) of Mainapokhari-9, Dolakha, Lalmaya Gurung (44) of Kakani-7, Nuwakot, Bidhya Adhikari (23) of Fataksila, Sindhupalchok, and Sarita Yadav (22) of Vishnupurkatti-7, Siraha. Lama had been living at Thali, Kathmandu, while others had been living at different parts of the Kathmandu Valley.

On Sunday, police arrested Lama with 1.5 kg of marijuana, a day after arresting Yadav from Bijayachok, Kathmandu, with seven kg of the narcotic drug and two kg of the drug from Gurung at Thimi, Bhaktapur.

On April 30, police had arrested Dahal with around 1.5 kg of the narcotic substance.

Police, however, have not disclosed the amount of marijuana they seized from Adhikari at Sinamangal.
