Kathmandu, July 1
Two students of Taukhel-based Pushpanjali boarding school — Kriti Rai (9) and Anjana Pun Magar — died and 20 got injured when an wall in their class roomcollapsed on Friday.
Both Rai and Pun Magar were students of Grade III. An orphanage, Ama Ghar, was funding Pun Magar’s education.
Chief district officer of Lalitpur, Rishi Ram Sharma, told Onlinekhabar that Rai and Pun Magar died in course of treatment.
According to a witness, a compound wall adjacent to the classroom collapsed and hit a wall of the classroom, where the students were studying. The classroom’s wall also gave in.
The injured are receiving treatment at B&B Hospital, Patan Hospital and Sumeru Hospital.
Poudel said about three of the injured were in serious condition.
