Press-Meet-of-Maoist-Center (1)

Kathmandu, July 12

The CPN-Maoist Centre has received a written commitment from the Nepali Congress to make Maoist Chair Prachanda prime minister in the first phase, Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara has disclosed. Mahara said this at a press conference at Singhadurbar on Tuesday afternoon.

We are discussing Prachanda’s tenure as prime minister, Mahara said, expressing hope that the Congress will inform about it on Wednesday by organising a press conference. Mahara said this at the press conference organised to announce the Maoist decision to withdraw support to the KP Oli-led ruling coalition.

Maoist leaders said Prachanda will remain as prime minister for some time, citing discussions with the Nepali Congress. They added that Deuba will head what they called the election government. Maoist Chair Prachanda and another party leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha were not present at Tuesday’s press conference.
