Kathmandu, July 13
Nepali Congress, the principal opposition in Parliament, has demanded that Prime Minister KP Oli put in his papers, a day after ruling coalition partner CPN-Maoist Centre withdrew support to the government.
A meeting of the NC’s central committee on Wednesday morning also decided to register a motion of no-confidence in Parliament if Oli does not resign voluntarily.
NC’s whip Iswari Neupane told Onlinekhabar, “The Prime Minister should resign now. If he does not do so, he will have to face a no-confidence motion.”
According to Neupane, the leadership informed the members about the seven-point agreement reached with the Maoists to form the new government.
