Kathmandu, July 22

Prime Minister KP Oli’s former coalition partner and Chairman of CPN-Maoist Centre Prachanda criticised the UML heavily in a speech in Parliament on Friday.

In his speech following the opposition’s move to thwart the government’s bid to pass this fiscal’s three budget-related bills, Prachanda accused Oli of being reluctant to implement federalism.

The Maoist leader, who had proposed Oli to the post nine months ago, alleged that the Prime Minister was ‘self-centric’ and did not honour agreements signed with the Maoists.

He said he had no option but to pull out of the ruling alliance, as the Prime Minister was in no mood to respect past agreements.

Prachanda was speaking ahead of a vote on the motion of no-confidence filed by the Maoists and the Nepali Congress last week. Discussion on the motion continues tomorrow.
