Kathmandu, July 31
Nepal’s Parliamentary Hearing Committee has endorsed the nomination of 11 individuals to the post of justices at the country’s apex court.
Although members of the committee aired criticism of two candidates–one a former UML member of Parliament (Sapna Pradhan Malla) and the other a former Attorney General (Harikrishna Karki)–all 11 of the names recommended by the Judicial Council have been approved.
According to constitutional provisions, the President will now appoint the individuals to the post.
