Kathmandu, August 26
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ met Dr Govinda KC, who recently postponed his eighth hunger strike last month, at his official residence in Baluwatar on Friday.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal told Dr KC he understands his demands and the issues he has been raising.
KC, who was accompanied by a team of doctors, said he postponed his hunger strike after Prime Minister Prachanda and ruling coalition ally Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba requested him to do so. He also urged the Prime Minister to take his demands seriously.
Dr KC has been demanding that Nepal’s anti-corruption body chief Lokman Singh Karki be impeached, and the government implement reforms in medical education.
