Kathmandu, September 18
The 19th memorial day marking the demise of Ganesh Man Singh, one of the founders of the Nepali Congress and the supreme commander of the 1990’s democratic movement, is being celerbrated on Sunday.
On the leader’s death anniversary, Ganesh Man Singh Foundation organised a programme at Shobha Bhagwati, garlanding the statue of the late leader.
At the programme, chair of the foundation and son of the late leader, Prakash Man Singh, said Ganesh Man Singh made a huge contribution to Nepal’s democratic movement.

Ganesh Man Singh passed away on September 18, 1997. The ‘Iron Man’ of Nepal’s democratic struggle against the Rana regime and the Panchayat regime had escaped jail, fled to India and helped establish the Nepali Congress, together with leaders like BP Koirala.
