Morang, September 23

Students of Rose International English Boarding School based in Kadmaha-5, Morang district, have an unlikely friend, who accompanies them during their school hours: A he-goat.

According to Ram Prasad Verma, school principal, the goat arrives daily when the school is about to open and leaves for home when the school closes.

The keeper of the 90-kg goat lives close to the school.

Says Verma: We asked its keeper not to let the goat loose, but to no avail. The animal has already spent a year together with the students without causing any inconvenience to the pupils.

At first, according to Verma, they tried to chase away the goat, but he won’t go away.

Says Verma: No matter how many times we drive it away, it comes back to the class. What can we do?

The students love this goat very much. Ramesh Urav, a student of Grade V, where the goat also learns his ‘lessons’, says they play with the goat, carass him during leisure.

For many pupils like Urab, the goat is simply lovely.
