Gorkha, October 5
Landslides at Ainapahara, Abukhaireni in Tanahun district, has brought vehicular movement to a halt along the Abukhaireni-Mugling section of the Prithvi Highway.
The disaster occurred after last night’s rainfall. It’s still unclear whether vehicles were caught in the disaster. Ramesh Shrestha, inspector at Abukhaireni area police office, said removal of landslide debris is currently underway. Shrestha said they have mobilised three dozers to remove the debris.
Shrestha said they are finding it hard to clear the road for want of excavators.
The landslips have brought vehicular movement to a halt in Pokhara (Kaski district) and Gorkha district, causing inconveniences to passengers and other people.
