Kathmandu, November 8
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba called on India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Latest political developments in Nepal figured in the meeting, Vikas Swarup, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, said.
A meeting scheduled between Deuba and Modi for Sunday could not take place because Modi was said to be busy. On Monday morning, Deuba had held talks with BJP leader Bhagat Singh Kosiyari.
Through his tweets, Kosiyari said his talks with Deuba focused on Nepal-India relations. Deuba also met India’s national security adviser Ajit Doval.
Deuba had left for Goa to take part in a programme of the think-tank India Foundation. During his visit, Jawaharlal Nehru University conferred on him an honorary PhD.
