Kathmandu, November 17
Prime Minister Prachanda said on Thursday he will take initiatives for opening the trade route joining Chainpur of Bajhang district with Taklakot of China. PM Prachanda promised to take up the matter with China during a meeting with an all-party delegation from Bajhang.
Apart from the north-south trade route, the delegates drew PM Prachanda’s attention towards development initiatives in the district and issues related to livelihoods.
At the meeting that took place in Singhadurbar, the delegates pointed that food production has gone down in Bajhang. They asked PM to include the district in the government’s food aid programme.
PM described the delegates-raised issues as just and sensitive. He vowed to discuss the issues with officials from line ministries and departments, Prime Minister’s Secretariat informed.
