Kathmandu, April 30
Parliament did not begin discussions on the constitution amendment bill on Sunday as expected.
Though the government had planned to begin discussions on the bill in the second House meeting today in the second meeting after endorsing a condolence motion on the death of former Nepali Congress lawmaker Naththuni Singh Danuwar, Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar announcement the adjournment till Thursday, May 4, at the end of the first meeting.
Ruling parties on Saturday night had filed a revision to the amendment bill in accordance with the agreement signed with the agitating Madheshi parties last week.
More than 50 amendments have been registered from lawmakers of ruling and opposition parties to the constitution amendment bill.
