Kathmandu, May 10
The Election Commission has clarified that voters casting their votes in upcoming local level elections have to acquire new voter identity cards before the voting day.
It has added that those carrying old ID cards cannot cast their votes as voting centres for many voters have changed this time.
The Commission is distributing the cards from respective voting centres for three days beginning Thursday in provinces 3, 4 and 6, which will hold the elections on upcoming Sunday.
The new cards have strong security features, according to the Commission.
