Kathmandu, January 1
After Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav said the Commission would announce results of proportional representation elections for House of Representatives only after the conclusion of National Assembly polls, the CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist Centre have decided to officially call on the constitutional body to rethink its plan.
Leaders of the two parties, who are planning to merge soon, will go to the Commission under the command of UML leader and former speaker Subas Chandra Nembang and meet commissioners today to request them to announce PR poll results at the earliest.
UML leader Krishna Gopal Shrestha says the leaders will also urge the Commission not to act under pressure of any party.
The meeting has been scheduled for 3 pm today.
