Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala

Chitwan, March 24

Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has said the culture of factionalism is natural within a party, but the ‘mafia culture’ is a sheer misfortune.

Speaking at a party cadres’ gathering in Chitwan today, he reiterated, “It will be dangerous for the party if the mafia rules the party.”

According to him, the culture of factionalism is expected as the opposition force within the party as it helps make the party further strong.

Meanwhile, Koirala objected to the government interference in various sectors.

“Interference in education and health will not be acceptable,” he warned.

Other central leaders of the party such as Sita Gurung and Dila Sangraula said the party was always victorious in terms of its principle and ideology.
