National Education Board (NEB) has informed that it has postponed the Social Studies SEE exam after it was revealed that the question paper had been leaked. This is the second time that a question paper was leaked.
The Science paper was also postponed on Thursday after the questions were leaked ahead of the exam.
“We had to postpone the test after finding out that it has been leaked again. The rules state that we have to cancel the exam. The exam will now take place on April 6,” said Province 2 Education Director Ramakant Sharma.
Sharma also added that the leakage of question paper has not affected the ‘exempted’ and ‘technical’ category candidates. He added that he had no idea how the papers were getting leaked and the Education Board was looking into the matter seriously. Like the Compulsory Science paper, the Social Studies paper was leaked online and was also available at shops across Province 2.
“Whoever is doing this needs to stop playing with the lives of these children. A harsh punishment will be given to those responsible,” added Sharma.
SEE candidates and students in various districts of Province 2 have staged demonstrations after the postponement of the test. Police have reported that the students are vandalising exam centres in Saptari and are obstructing the traffic along the East-West Highway.
