Biratnagar, December 2
The Nepali Congress party had demanded that the Election Commission conduct voting in Dharan-7 again. The party has said it does not accept the announced result of the election held on Saturday for the post of ward chair.
According to the result published this morning, the party’s Suwarna Palikhe was defeated by the Nepal Communist Party’s Jeevan Subedi by just one vote. Subedi received 622 votes.
Whereas the Congress cadres had already congratulated Palikhe for the victory, the news about Subedi’s win came out. Hence, the party filed an application demanding the repoll.
