
Kathmandu, May 3
One more case of coronavirus infection has been confirmed in Nepal, taking the country’s Covid-19 tally to 60.
The latest case belongs to the Birgunj city of southern Nepal, where a few cases are preexisting.
Dr Madan Upadhyaya, the medical superintendent of Narayani Hospital in the city, says the newest patient is a 36-year-old man from Chhapkaiya of Birgunj metropolitan city.
Health workers had collected his throat swab samples on Friday. Birgunj city’s ward 3 chair Baijulal Swarnakar says the man had approached him asking for a coronavirus test.
Following the confirmation of the infection, he has been admitted to the hospital.
