Kathmandu, June 9

A group of local activists and traders have staged a protest outside the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar of Kathmandu this morning.

The demonstrators protested the government’s directive to pay taxes without relaxing lockdown, and its recently updated Covid-19 testing policy that allows the patients to get discharged without any test if they do not have any symptoms. Likewise, they demanded that the quarantine facilities are well-managed and the government repatriate Nepalis stranded abroad as soon as possible.

The protesters had worn different masks and carried placards.

Police later dispersed the protestors using water cannons.
