Nepal Covid-19 tally: 979 new cases, 1,736 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 47,236  as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 979 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 326 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 9,218 swab samples were tested. So far, 777,563 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 30,677 people have achieved recovery whereas 300 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,736 people have been discharged whereas 11 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 65 per cent.

The other 16,259 cases are active currently. Of them, 9,069 are hospitalised whereas remaining 7,190 are in home isolation.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusha, Parsa, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Bara, Chitwan, Rupandehi, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Taplejung, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 4,700 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
