Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,081 new cases, 918 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 9

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 49,219 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,081 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 464 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 11,167 swab samples were tested. So far 799,341 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 33,822 people have achieved recovery whereas 312 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 918 people have been discharged whereas six deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 68.8 per cent.

The other 15,025 cases are active currently. Of them, 7,988 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 7,037 are in home isolation. Of those hospitalised, 162 are in intensive care units and 22 are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Sarlahi, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 5,400 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
