Kathmandu, October 22
The Ministry of Health and Population says 3,637 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 1,552 are from the Kathmandu valley.
In this period, 15,255 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 350,152 people have been tested in the country.
As of today, 44,877 cases are active currently. Among them, 31,538 are in home isolation, and 13,339 are hospitalised.
Likewise, 290 are in intensive care units and 77 on ventilators.
Of the total cases so far, 102,820 people have achieved recovery whereas 812 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 3,215 people have been discharged whereas 21 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 69.2 per cent.
Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Kavre, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, Surkhet, and Kailali districts have more than 500 active cases each. Mang has zero cases.
Over 3,700 people are quarantined across the country.
