Inaruwa, October 7
Two persons were killed in a road accident that took place at Lions Club Chowk of Itahari sub-metropolitan city-16 in the Sunsari district last night.
The deceased have been identified as Sushant Bhattarai (25) of Inaruwa-2 and Bibhishan BK (20) of Chichila-2, Sankhuwasabha, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar Karki.
Both were seriously injured when the scooter (Ko 20 Pa 6747) they were travelling on the East-West Highway was hit by a truck (Na 6 Kha 5681) coming from the opposite direction.
Both died on the way to the hospital, police say.
The truck had been impounded while its driver Arjun Giri (31), of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city-9, Makawanpur has been taken to police custody, says DSP Karki.
