Chery Tiggo 4 Pro: New SUV in the Nepali market

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is the latest addition to the fiercely competing SUV market of Nepal.

Tiggo 4 Pro is one of the many SUV models from Chery Automobile Co Ltd. Founded in 1997, it is a globalised automobile brand originally located in China and now has made its way to Nepal. SPG Automobiles Pvt Ltd, a company under the Sharda Group, has been appointed the authorised distributor for Chery Automobile Co Ltd in Nepal, and now, it has launched Chery Tiggo 4 Pro here.

Design

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro features some impressive styling that is sure to impress buyers and people in general. At the front, this SUV gets a hexagonal waterfall grille with the Chery logo in the middle. There are LED projector headlights on either side and below them are fog lamps housed in the bumps. The bonnet also gets a muscular shape that helps enhance the looks of the vehicle.

At the back, there are wraparound blackened LED tail lamps and a properly done Chery badging that looks classy. The faux silver skid plates in the rear also add style to the vehicle. The black 17-inch machine-cut alloys look great and the black claddings further increase the beauty of Chery Tiggo 4 Pro.

Engine and performance

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is equipped with a 1.5T engine, which is subjected to a technological upgrade from a 1.5VVT engine. It adopts Honeywell turbocharger, BorgWarner DVVT technology, integration technology of cylinder head and exhaust manifold, electronic thermostat and other technologies for high reliability.

This engine can generate a maximum power of 108BHP at 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 210Nm at 4000rpm. The engine is mated with a 9 speed CVT gearbox. High engine parameters ensure high and continuous powers at low and high speeds respectively.

Furthermore, this vehicle provides two driving modes to the user: eco and sports. The inclusion of McPherson struts upfront ensures a smooth riding experience.

Interiors

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has a spacious interior that is well integrated and the materials of the interiors display quality as well. There is a pop-up 10.25-inch infotainment system on the board that supports both Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The LCD screen displays information like speed, fuel, range and more.

The chunky steering wheel is flat-bottomed and gets tilt and telescopic adjustment and there are buttons for media and telephonic controls. The central console has a beautiful black finish which is susceptible to fingerprints.

The door compartments can fit a one-litre bottle or a similar element. Under the front armrest on the centre console is a cooled compartment that can accommodate smaller bottles and cans. The power controls are only provided for the driver’s seat. Rear passengers also get a rear air convent and a USB port.

The boot space is also plenty on Chery Tiggo 4 Pro. The rear seat gets a 60:40 split. It also has a powered sunroof that floods the cabin with enough light. There is also automatic headlamps, climate control and a voice command system.

Safety

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has plenty of safety features for users. It adopts a high-strength body. The whole car covers adopt galvanised steel, with high strength steel accounting for more than 60%, and Bentler ultra-high-strength hot-formed steel is adopted with a yield strength of more than 1500Mpa. It is equipped with six ring-type airbags to provide comprehensive and thoughtful protection and reduce injury to personnel in the car.

In addition, it is equipped with a body anti-theft alarm system. The engine anti-theft system only recognises the original factory key. If you enter any other key, the car will immediately cut off the circuit automatically and if someone pries the door or trunk, it will immediately trigger the anti-theft alarm, and the turn signal continues to blink.

Other safety feature includes ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability programme (ESP), TCS, rolling stability control (RSC), hill assist, hill descent and direct tyre monitoring system. The vehicle even sends a fatigue alert that reminds you to take a rest if you drive the vehicle for too long.

ESP9.3 adopts a new digital pressure sensor, with adjustment accuracy increased by 33 times compared with the analogue pressure sensor of the ESP9.1 version, and the dynamic control of the body is more exquisite.

Anti-pinch doors and windows, and safety locks to protect children: Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is equipped with four doors and a four-window anti-pinch system, with such functions as window anti-pinch, auto-locking and window via remote control key and down the window function, featuring convenient and time-saving, safer and worry-free. It is equipped with a child safety lock, which is controlled via the door switch, and the locking/unlocking status can be confirmed via switch prompt light and dashboard dynamic prompt for convenience and safety.

Tyre pressure monitoring to ensure drive safety: The direct tyre pressure monitoring system of the new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro provides a tyre pressure sensor in each tyre, and the tyre pressure information and tyre temperature are displayed on the instrument through a radio frequency signal to prevent accidents. The system will automatically give an alarm in case of low or high tyre pressure.

The booking for Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has started, and currently, there are three variants:
