Kathmandu, February 21
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,114,544 as of Monday afternoon.
The ministry said 388 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 5,225 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 427 returned positive. Likewise, 2,915 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 141 tested positive.
Of total tests, 4.72 per cent of the PCR and 4.83 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.76 per cent.
As of today, there are 11,282 active cases across the country. Of them, 463 are hospitalised, 139 in intensive care units and 19 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 1,205 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were four deaths today.
Of the total cases so far, 952,599 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,925 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.6 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.
Meanwhile, 873,438 people were vaccinated today.
