With a wide global reach, Xiaomi is now competing against the likes of Samsung and Apple for the smartphone market and even has succeeded in overtaking the giants in some parts of the world.
Widening its portfolio, Xiaomi has recently released two laptop series–the RedmiBook 15 series and MI Notebook series–to the market. In this context, Onlinekhabar has spoken with Amit Kumar Panda, the company’s country general manager for Nepal.

How has Xiaomi’s journey been in Nepal so far? How do you feel about Xiaomi being one of the top consumer electronics brands in Nepal?
There is no doubt that Xiaomi has been able to capture the Nepali market in a very short time and gain the trust of our customers. Xiaomi provides the highest quality products with the best specifications at an honest price, and this is the main reason why we are able to sustain ourselves in this highly competitive smartphone market. It is exhilarating how our Xiaomi fans have always supported us and helped us reach a pedestal of being a trustworthy brand, selling high-quality accessories at a very reasonable price. You have recently launched the Mi NoteBook series and RedmiBook series in the laptop segment. How has the market responded to them till now?
Our Xiaomi fans and consumers in the market have always cherished our products and remained keen on receiving and using the latest technology, which is exactly why we decided to extend our portfolio and launch a laptop portfolio in Nepal. We have launched the Mi NoteBook series and RedmiBook series that offer unparalleled speed providing unmatched performance provided by the competitors.
What do you have to say about the laptops being launched in the ecosystem category?
We have focused on our phone-plus strategy and delved deeper into other consumer electronics categories. With every product launched across categories such as power banks, earbuds, fitness bands, smartwatches and smart TVs, we have aimed to make the latest technology more accessible to our customers who are widely known as Xiaomi fans. Both the Mi NoteBook series and the RedmiBook series have been receiving immense love and support from the market.
