Three people of the same family died in Kavepalanchwk after being buried by a landslide in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The landslide occurred around 1 am and buried the house in Bethanchok rural municipality 4. Two people died on the spot while one died during treatment, informed SP Chakra Raj Joshi, the chief of the Kavrepalanchok District Police Office.
The deceased have been identified as 65-year-old Thuli Maya Tamang, 44-year-old Nir Bahadur Tamang and 40-year-old Sabitri Tamang.
According to the chair of Bethanchok rural municipality, Taranath Timalsina, the landslide was triggered by stone mining in the hills above the house.
