Kathmandu, December 21
The senior-most member of the House of Representatives Pashupati Shamsher Rana has taken the oath of office and secrecy.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to him on Wednesday afternoon.
It is customary for members of the House of Representatives to be sworn in by the senior-most member. Prior to that, Rana took oath according to the provision that senior-most members should take oath from the President’s office.
Members of the House of Representatives elected in the November 20 election will take oath at 1 pm on Thursday.
