Design and Display
The design of the Vivo V29 5G is the major attraction of the phone. It has a modern and sleek design with two colour options — Noble Black and Peal Blue.
The Peak Blue colour option has a shiny glittery wavy pattern like sea waves. The Noble Black colour option has a matte shiny and grainy type texture.
The back is made up of glass. The camera module is on the top left corner and houses the triple camera setup and the Aura ring light. The camera module is slightly bumped. The frame is curved along the back and the display with a shiny metal-like finish.
On the front, it has a curved display with a hole-punch camera cutout at the centre. It has a large display measuring 6.78-inch size and minimal bezels provide an impressive 90.8 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It utilises AMOLED technology, offering a range of 1 billion colours and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
It also supports HDR10+. The resolution is 1,260 x 2,800 pixels and delivers a pixel density of about 453 ppi. It also has IP68 dust and water resistance.
Performance and Storage
The Vivo V29 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. The Octa-core CPU comprises a 1×2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 high-performance core, 3×2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 cores for performance, and 4×1.9 GHz Cortex-A55 cores for efficiency and background tasks. The Adreno 642L GPU handles graphics processing. It runs on Android 13 operating system with Funtouch 13 over it.
In terms of RAM, it has one option of 12GB which is paired with one storage option of 256GB.
Camera
The Vivo V29 5G has a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main camera. It has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to counteract shaky hands and an aperture of f/1.88. It has an 8MP ultra wide-angle lens with a wide f/2.2 aperture that expands your field of view. Additionally, a 2MP monochrome lens or depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture adds depth and texture to your monochrome shots.
The rear camera has features such as photo, portrait, night, video, high resolution, pano, live photo, slo-mo, time-lapse, pro, documents, supermoon, sports, dual view and Astro. The rear camera can shoot 4k videos at 30fps and 1,080p videos at 30fps.
The rear camera also features a round flashlight called the aura ring light. This ring-shaped LED light provides even illumination, and versatile lighting effects, and is easily adjustable through the camera app. It can also auto-adjust itself to warm or cool light according to the lighting condition.
The Vivo V29 5G’s front camera is a 50MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. It also has many features such as photo, portrait, night, video, high resolution, live photo and dual view. The front camera can record 1,080p videos at 30fps.
Battery and Others
The Vivo V29 5G is powered by a 4,600 mAh battery. To recharge, it supports fast 80W wired charging which can charge it from 1-50 per cent in about 17 minutes. In terms of connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac for internet access and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless communication with other devices. For SIM support, it accommodates dual Nano SIMs.
On the sensor front, the phone is equipped with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, proximity sensor, and gyroscope (Entity). Additionally, it features an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure and convenient unlocking.
