
Kathmandu, January 21
The body of a young man was discovered in a partially clothed state in Mahottari, raising suspicions of murder.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Gyanendra, also known as Gyanu Yadav, the son of former VDC chairperson Gokul Yadav, from Sonama Rural Municipality-2.
According to Nandakumar Chauhan, Information Officer at the District Police Office, locals reported the body to the police after discovering it this morning near a settlement in the area.
Preliminary observations of the scene and the condition of the body suggest the possibility of foul play.
Police have deployed a trained canine unit to aid in the investigation. The body was found partially clothed, with signs indicating strangulation with a gamcha (traditional cloth), police stated.
