Three motorable bridges have been constructed along the Kaligandaki Corridor, a national pride project linking China and India, on the Benighat–Jomsom–Korala road in Mustang.

The Benighat–Jomsom–Korala Road Project Office, Mustang, built the bridges over Marphakhola in Gharapjhong Rural Municipality-2, Nursingkhola in Baragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality-6, and Charangkhol in Damodar Kunda Rural Municipality at a total cost of Rs 310.78 million.

Project Chief Dhruba Kumar Jha confirmed the completion of the bridges and access roads, allowing vehicles to operate. A contract worth Rs 210.6 million was signed six years ago with Himadung and Thokar Immortal Construction for a 120-meter-long bridge over Marphakhola.

With the permanent bridge now operational, commuters no longer have to rely on unsafe temporary wooden crossings, said Lhoghekar-Damodarkund Rural Municipality Chairman Lomshang Chomphel Bista (Raju).

Bista also stated that road expansion and additional bridge construction bids are underway along the corridor, further enhancing connectivity. The completion of these bridges is expected to improve transportation, boost trade, and facilitate easier movement for residents and travelers along this strategic route.
