Kathmandu, February 13

The government has decided to accept $2 million (approximately Rs 277 million) from the Asian Development Bank under the ‘Asia-Pacific Disaster Response Fund’ for the ‘Emergency Flood Rescue Plan-2024.’

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, shared the Cabinet decisions made on February 10. The government granted in-principle approval for financial management preparedness in constructing the 670MW reservoir-based Dudhkoshi Hydropower Project.

Additionally, the government scrapped the ‘Work Procedure on Punishment and Pardon, Case on Hold, and Change-2071.’ It endorsed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on visa permits—excluding diplomatic officials and service passport holders—between Nepal and Ukraine. Another MoU on diplomatic studies and training cooperation will be signed between Nepal’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and Oman’s Diplomatic Academy.

The Cabinet also decided to hand over a 15-bed basic hospital in Athbiskot, Dailekh, to Karnali Academy of Health Sciences for management. The Insurance Regulation, 2081 BS, was endorsed.

Meanwhile, Acting Chief Secretary of Lumbini Province, Baburam Adhikari, was promoted to a gazetted special class officer. The government also transferred 17 joint secretaries and reassigned secretaries at the Finance Ministry, President’s Office, and CIAA.
