Kathmandu, June 30
Hello Sarkar, the government hotline, has received complaints through Twitter that operators of parking lots at the domestic section of the Tribhuvan International Airport are charging motorists really high.
These complaints come barely a week after the government barred employees stationed at Departures and Arrivals sections of the airport from using facebook and YouTube, responding to reports that the employees often use social media during office hours instead of catering to customers.
Of late, more and more people are lodging complaints with Hello Sarkar through social media. Pradhyumna Upadhyaya, under-secretary at Hello Sarkar, told Onlinekhabar that the last few days have seen a spurt in the number of complaints regarding the management of the airport.
As per the complaints, the whole process of collecting parking fees is opaque. There’s no information on parking fees and the collecting agency, among others.
A complaint reads: It’s unclear whether one has to pay parking charges or not. If payment of fees is mandatory, there’s a need to make the whole process systematic. If it’s not, those collecting fees should face action.
