Kathmandu, July 20
Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashank Koirala returned home from Om Hospital on Wednesday after undergoing treatment for pneumonia for two weeks.
A team of doctors under Lava Joshi had provided treatment to the NC leader. At one point, Nepali Congress leaders, including party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, had recommended flying Koirala to India on an air ambulance for treatment. But family members were against taking Koirala to India for treatment. The team under Joshi had also said they can provide treatment to Koirala at the hospital itself.
Koirala had taken ill all of a sudden after eating pizza. Koirala is the youngest son of the late BP Koirala, one of the founders of the Nepali Congress.
