Lawmakers have urged the government of Nepal to take action against those responsbile for the death of two students in a compound wall collapse in Taukhel, Godavari.
Two students of Pushpanjali boarding school had died and 20 got injured inside their classroom when a compound wall adjoining the school wall collapsed amid rainfall, on Friday.
Speaking at Sunday’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament, Nepali Congress lawmaker Udaya Shumsher Rana said the incident should not be taken lightly.
He said: Two students have died and 20 more have suffered injuries. In this case, those responsbile cannot escape from their responsibilities pointing that the deaths occurred in a wall collapse and they had nothing to do with it.
Yogendra Tamang, lawmaker from the CPN-Maoist Centre, said the school management and the company that erected the wall after plotting the land are to blame for the deaths and injuries. He demanded that the guilty be brought within the ambit of law.
