Kathmandu, August 11

The Netherlands’ cricket team skipper Peter Borren is likely to miss the two-match series against Nepal, which begins on Saturday, due to a an injury he picked up during a practice match against the MCC earlier this week.

According to Cricket Europe, Borren split the webbing on his right hand taking a slips catch against the MCC at Rotterdam.

The 32-year-old right-handed all-rounder is a key member of the Dutch squad, and has a good record against Nepal. During the ICC World Cup qualifier in New Zealand in 2014, Borren scored the winning runs against Nepal while remaining unbeaten on 45. He was also handy with the bat against Nepal during their tour of the Netherlands in 2015.

During the match in which he picked up the injury, Borren scored 97 runs.

However, Borren has in the past played through injury, and could do that this time also.
