A match between Nepal XI and the Netherlands’ A team organised as part of the visiting side’s preparation for the game against the Dutch national squad on Saturday was abandoned due to rain.

The 50-over match at Deventer was reduced to 44 overs as Nepal won the toss and batted first. When it rained again, it was reduced to 42 overs.

Under ‘freezing conditions’, Nepal could muster only 88 runs before being bowled out in 31.4 overs. Skipper Paras Khadka was rested for the match. The Netherlands’ Zulfiqar took three wickets while Overdijk claimed two.
