Kathmandu, August 11

MJF-Loktantrik leader Bijay Gachchhadar, who holds the record of being minister 11 times, will not get a place in in Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s Cabinet, it has been confirmed.

Gachchhadar, who has served as Deputy Prime Minister twice, has been left out of the Cabinet due to resistance from the Madheshi Morcha, which has supported Prime Minister Prachanda from outside the government.

According to sources, Prachanda shall have two deputies, whom he has already named.

However, Prachanda is likely to name two ministers from Gachchadar’s party.

Gachchhadar was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure Development in the erstwhile KP Oli government. However, he had withdrawn support to the government after a motion of no confidence was registered against Oli. Gachchhadar and his party MPs voted for Prachanda during the election for Prime Minister.
