Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s teacher who gave him his formal name, has died at the age of 71.
Raj Krishna Kandel, who was the headmaster of the school Dahal studied at, had been grappling with kidney ailments for a long time. He passed away at a hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan.
Kandel, who was head mast at Narayani Bidhya Mandir, Shivnagar, reportedly changed Prachanda’s name from ‘Chhabilal’ to ‘Pushpa Kamal’, Kandel’s colleague Bhawani Prasad Paudel told Onlinekhabar.
The senior teach of English is considered one of the pioneers in school education in Chitwan.
