Armed Police Force constables Karna Bahadur Pun and Mohan Shrestha sustained injuries in a shooting incident at Krishnanagar customs on Thursday.
Pun has sustained injuries on his shoulder whereas Shrestha sustained hand injuries. Both are out of danger, APF said.
Eyewitnesses said someone opened fire from the nearby Indian territory at around 2 pm
According to eyewitnesses, someone had fired at the two officers from the nearby Indian territory at around 2 pm.
Tarikh Chandra Chaudhary, chief of the APF’s Kapilvastu customs battalion, said it appears the attackers may have used airgun in the shooting. The two are receiving treatment at a local hospital, Chaudhary told Onlinekhabar, adding that both are out of danger.
Chaudhary suspected that a group of smugglers may have attacked the duo. A search for the shooters and further investigation are underway, Chaudhary said.
