Zarin Daruwala appointed Standard Chartered Bank Nepal chairperson

Kathmandu, january 8

Zarin Daruwala has been appointed the new chairperson of the Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited.

The 407th board meeting of the company held on Friday made the appointment. She will replace incumbent Jitender Arora.

Daruwala has been the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, India since 2016. In a career spanning over 31 years, she has worked across all areas of banking ranging from wholesale banking, agri-finance, corporate finance, corporate planning, investment banking and credit.  

The company says she is named the 13th most powerful woman in business by ‘Fortune India’ and also featured among 42 Most Influential Women in India by ‘Business World’ and “Top 100 Most Influential BFSI Leaders” released by the World BFSI Congress and Awards.

Meanwhile, the 34th AGM of the company chaired by Jitender Arora, the outgoing chairman of the bank, was successfully held today.

Considering the Covid -19 situation this year, the event was conducted in a hybrid model from The Everest Hotel, Naya Baneshwor.
