Redmi’s popular ultrabook series for 2024 is official with the Redmi Book 14 and Book 16. The laptops were made official in the 10th Anniversary event of Redmi, featuring the new Redmi K series smartphones, the Redmi Watch 4 and the Redmi Buds 5 Pro.
The event’s main highlights were the K70 series smartphones, including the Redmi K70 pro, Redmi K70 and Redmi K70e.
The Redmi Book 14 and 16 share similar specs overall and differ mainly in display, dimension, weight and battery sizes. Redmi laptops are quite popular in Nepal for the features they deliver in the price range.

Design and Display
The Redmi Book 14 and the Book 16 have the same design. Book 14 is available in Starlight Silver and Star Gray colour options while Book 16 is available only in the Star Gray colour option. Each laptop features a full-sized 3-level backlight keyboard with 1.3mm key travel for Book 14 and 1.5mm key travel for Book 16. Positioned centrally, the touchpad on both laptops is notably spacious.
The Redmi Book 16 has a 16-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2,560×1,600. Its dynamic refresh rate supports up to 120Hz. It has 400nits brightness and a complete 100 per cent sRGB colour gamut, further enhanced by Dolby Vision and TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing.
On the other hand, the Redmi Book 14 has a 14-inch Super Retina display with 2,880 × 1,800 resolution within a 16:10 ratio. Despite its slightly smaller size, it offers a notable 1500:1 contrast ratio and 300nits brightness, maintaining the same 100 per cent sRGB colour gamut and Dolby Vision support. It also has the TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free operation.
Performance and Storage
Both the Redmi Book 16 and Book 14 are equipped with the 13th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-13500H Processor which offers quite some performance. With Energy Efficiency Core Turbo Frequencies reaching up to 3.5GHz and Performance Core Turbo Frequencies peaking at 4.7GHz, the laptops are efficient in handling tasks with their 12 Cores and 16 Threads. With an ample L3 Cache of 18MB, these machines handle data swiftly and effectively. As for graphics processing, both Book 16 and Book 14 feature Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics and run on Windows 11 Home operating system.
In terms of RAM option, both the laptops have 16 GB LPDDR5 memory clocked at 6400MT/s. For storage, the laptops have two options of 512 GB or 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Battery and Others
In the battery department, the Redmi Book 16 has a 72Wh battery pack whereas the Book 14 has a smaller 56Wh battery pack. As for charging both laptops get a 100W USB-C adapter in the box. As for connectivity options both laptops support 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) for wireless networking and Bluetooth 5.2 for device pairing.
The 1080P webcams on the display of the laptops cater for the needs of video calls. As for ports, both the laptops include a USB-A 2.0, USB-A 3.2 Gen1, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 TMDS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Audio-wise, they both offer dual 2W speakers, supported by four microphones and Dolby Atmos sound software. Additionally, both laptops feature fingerprint unlock for security and convenience.
The expected prices for the Book 14 are Rs 92,000 for the 16/512GB variant and Rs 98,000 for the 16/1TB variant. On the other hand, the Book 16 is expected to cost around Rs 96,000 for the 16/512GB variant and Rs 102,000 for the 16/1TB variant in Nepal.
