The KP Oli government has already distributed Rs 5.5 billion to earthquake victims for the purchase of warm clothes. It has given to each affected family Rs 10,000 for the purpose.
Prime Minister Oli said on Sunday the government has distributed Rs 5.5 billion out of Rs 5.99 billion earmarked for the purpose.
Oli informed this during a meeting that the parliamentary Development Committee had convened.
Reconstruction Authority CEO Sushil Gyawali, Minister for Physical Planning and Works Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, Home Minister Shakti Basnet and secretaries from different ministers were also present at the meeting.
At the meeting, Oli said 95 per cent of the quake-hit households have already received Rs 10,000 each, adding that relief distribution has been going on.
The fuel shortage resulting from the Indian blockade and the Madhesh movement affected humanitarian and government agencies’ efforts to rush vital supplies to earthquake victims before the onset of the winter, increasing the vulnerability of the quake victims.
