Kathmandu, March 13
A corruption investigation against UCPN-Maoist lawmaker Lhakyal Lama has led the CIAA to a bank locker containing 14 bullets.
Lama has been under scanner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on the charge of amassing fortunes.
In course of the investigation, the CIAA opened Lama’s locker in Investment Bank at Durbarmarg and found 14 bullets there, CIAA Spokesperson Krishna Hari Pushkar told Onlinekhabar.
“We had summoned Lhakyal to the CIAA for opening the bank locker,” Pushkar said. While opening the locker, the CIAA found bullets instead of gold and silver, he said.
The CIAA then handed Lama over to the police office at Durbarmarg. Pushkar said they handed Lama to police for proceeding legal action against him under the Arms and Ammunition Act, 2019 BS.
