Let’s stand together against the tendency to destabilise governments: Prachanda

Kathmandu, May 11

UCPN-Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said in the Parliament on Wednesday that no government formed in Nepal in course of 65 years has completed its full term.

Prachanda was responding to the Nepali Congress’ claims that the KP government’s ambitious policies and programmes for the fiscal 2073-74 do not mean much as the ruling coalition seems to have a short life.

He took time to defend the government’s policies and programmes, saying: Though the policies and programmes are ambitious, their implementation is not impossible. Whether this government will last long or not is unimportant, Prachanda said, asking all concerned to get rid of the tendency to destabilise governments.

Plots to topple governments and form new ones cause harm, Prachanda said, adding that a national unity government is a must for national development.

Some technical errors occurred while I was trying to forge national consensus, Prachanda said, adding that his party, the UCPN-Maoist, will not quit the ruling coalition. He said the government is committed to implementation of the constitution, resolution of the Madhesh crisis and post-quake reconstruction work.
